It is good to have a learning buddy - It's motivating, fun and makes us even more accountable. A lot of couples and families are able to work together and encourage each other. There is no competition but a greater understanding of how we all learn in different ways. Together we can generate ideas of ways to learn and learning can often be incorporated into everyday life.

Sometimes when learning a language it is useful and interesting to think of words and phrases of a particular topic. For example think of time. Here are some phrases in English:-

In a jiffy -  In a minute -  in a second -  In the twinkling of an eye -  In two shakes of a lamb's tail

A mile a minute -  Up to the minute - Finest hour -  Open all hours  - The small hours -  All in a day's  work

Every dog has his day  - One of these days

I am sure that you can think of more. Please send them to me and we can publish them on the e-zine

Now see how many you can find in the language which you are studying at the moment. Ask your teacher. Have fun with it. It will add colour and liveliness to your spoken language
