Respect & Value

Why learn a language? Most people say something like "To be able to order a meal" "To do some shopping", Sometimes you will hear people say " To get to know the people of the country" I like that one

We all need to get around, eat, and shop. But there is something more important than satisfying your own needs. Learning a language is about respecting and valuing people. I don't know about you but this seems vitally important in today's world.

Each of us can do this and encourage others to do the same which in some measure will help us build...a more peaceful world...  Spread the word about learning languages as the European Day of Languages approaches on September 26th. - Who do you know who isn't learning a language?  How can you encourage them to learn a little?
